# Assigning Competency to Checklist Templates

You can assign a **required competency** directly on a checklist template. This ensures that only workers whose competency meets the requirement are allowed to run the checklist.

## Understanding Competency Requirements

Competencies create a hierarchy of capability.

Different compentencies may be configured globally in **RHS menu → Settings → Competency Types**, or customised per-checklist depending on your organisation’s configuration.

1. In Ezyid Lite, open **Checklists**.

2. Open the checklist template you want to configure.

3. Tap **Edit Template** or the settings icon.

4. Scroll to **Competency Requirement**.

5. Set the **Required Competency Level** from the dropdown.

6. Save the template.

The checklist now enforces that the worker holds at least the selected competency level before running or submitting the checklist.
